How to Ice Dye (Quick)

1. Pre-soak in soda ash: 2 cups per gallon of water (≈125 ml per liter by volume). Soak fabric 15–20 min; wring out.
2. Tie/fold/scrunch fabric and place in a colander or rack over a catch tray.
3. Cover with ice (or clean snow).
4. Sprinkle dye powder evenly over the ice.
5. Melt & develop overnight in a warm spot.
6. Rinse & wash after 24–48 hours until water runs clear; launder separately first wash.

Tip: Vary fold patterns, ice thickness, and color placement for bolder splits and layered “geode” effects.
